Jose Sand scored a late equalizer (90+3') to enable hosts Lanus to salvage a 1-1 home draw with Mexico's Chivas de Guadalajara. Sergio Avila provided the Goats' goal at 33 minutes.

At Buenos Aires, Argentina:

San Lorenzo hammered visiting Mexican club San Luis 4-1. Andres Silvera doubled (3', 16') for the hosts.

At Asuncion, Paraguay:

Manuel Marciel (42') and Samudio (83') provided the scoring as Club Libertad held off visiting Universitario de Deportes of Peru 2-1.
