At Caracas, Venezuela:
Jose Manuel Rey (47'), Dario Damian Figueroa (49'), and Rafael Castellin (72') provided the second-half firepower to lift Caracas FC to a 3-1 home win over Argentina's Lanus.
At Guadalajara, Mexico:
Chivas de Guadalajara put on a scoring exhibition as Sergio Amaury Ponce (17'), Ramon Morales (PK-21'), Alberto Medina (31'), Marco Fabian De la Mora (36'), and Javier Hernandez Balcazar (76', 87') provided the scoring that propelled the Goats to a 6-2 home triumph over Chile's Everton de Vina del Mal.
