AFC Champions League: Overtime Win Sends Bunyodkor Into Semis

The quarterfinal round of the AFC Champions League concluded with two games contested on Wednesday.

At Tashkent, Uzbekistan:

After a second 2-2 draw between FC Bunyodkor and visiting Adelaide United, resulting in the series being deadlocked at 4-4 on aggregate, Alibobo Rakhmatullev scored the winning goal in overtime (114'), enabling the Uzbekistani club to take the series 5-4 on aggregate.

At Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:

Rafinha scored twice in the first half (24', 26') as Ulsan Hyundai spanked Al-Hilal 4-0 on the road in game two and won their two-match series 5-0 on aggregate.

FC Bunyodkor will take on FC Ulsan Hyundai in a two-match series in the semifinal round (with the opening match on October 24 at Tashkent, Uzbekistan and the return contest on October 31 at Ulsan, South Korea).  The winner will advance to the one-game championship final for a berth in December's FIFA Club World Cup.
