MLS: DCU, Dynamo, Red Bulls Clinch Playoff Berths; Crew Eliminated; NY-SKC Draw Clinches Supporters Shield For Quakes

Six games were played in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Toronto:

The match between Toronto FC and the visiting Montreal Impact concluded in a 0-0 stalemate.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

The contest between the New York Red Bulls (who clinched a playoff berth) and visiting Eastern Conference-leading Sporting Kansas City ended in a 0-0 deadlock.  The draw clinched the Supporters Shield title for the San Jose Earthquakes for best overall record in MLS.

At Washington:

Lewis Neal scored the winning goal in second-half stoppage time (90'+1) carried DC United to a 3-2 come-from-behind home win over the Columbus Crew----and their first playoff berth since 2007, while keeping their chances of overtaking Sporting Kansas City for the Eastern Conference title alive.

At Houston:

Macoumba Kandji (5'), Oscar Boniek Garcia (71'), and Brad Davis (PK-75') provided the scoring as the Houston Dynamo locked up a playoff berth by defeating the visiting Philadelphia Union 3-1.  The Houston victory, combined with Columbus' loss to DC United, eliminated the Crew from playoff contention.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Diego Fernandez scored the only goal of the match in the 17th minute as the New England Revolution knocked off the visiting Chicago Fire 1-0, ending the guests' hopes of overtaking Sporting Kansas City for the Eastern Conference regular-season title.

At Carson, California:

Martin Rivero (16') and Kamani Hill (43') provided the goal power as the Colorado Rapids blanked Chivas USA 2-0 on the road.
