Europa League

The second match day of Europa League group-stage action took place with 24 games contested on Thursday.

Group A:

At Moscow:

Samuel Eto'o  provided both goals (62', PK-90') as FC Anzhi Makhachkala blanked visiting BSC Young Boys 2-0.

At Liverpool, England:

Giovanni Pasquale scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 72nd minute as Udinese knocked off Liverpool 3-2 on the road.

Cristian Rodriguez scored the only goal of the match in second-half stoppage time (90'+3) as Atletico Madrid defeated visiting FC Viktoria Plzen 1-0.

Jermain Lens (19'), Dries Mertens (41'), and Marcelo Antonio Guedes Filho (52') provided the tallies as PSV Eindhoven dominated visiting Napoli 3-0.

At Szekesfehervar, Hungary:

Paulo Vinicius (15'), Filipe Oliveira (21'), and Nemanja Nikolic (35') each scored once during a three-goal first half as Videoton manhandled visiting Sporting CP 3-0.

Toche delivered the equalizer in the 79th minute as Panathinaikos came from behind to gain a 1-1 home draw with Tottenham Hotspur.  Michael Dawson scored in the 35th minute for Spurs.

Stefan Kiessling scored the only goal of the match in the 76th minute as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Rosenborg 1-0 on the road.

Rasmus Bengtsson (74') and Douglas Franco Teixeira (88') provided the late scoring that enabled FC Twente to come back from two goals down to gain a 2-2 road draw with Helsingborg.  Nikola Dudric scored both of the hosts goals in the 7th and 43rd minutes.
