Eight games were played on Tuesday as group-stage action in the UEFA Champions League resumed. Two of the contests took place in Group E.
At Bucharest, Romania:
Schalke remained alive for a Round of 16 Champions League berth by holding Steaua Bucharest to a 0-0 draw in the Romanian capital, eliminating the hosts from European competition. The Royal Blues still blew a shot at staying in second place in Group E as the reaction from Benedikt Howedes indicates.
