At Lima, Peru:

Nestor Duarte's own goal in the 67th minute proved costly as Atletico Paranaense defeated Universitario de Deportes 1-0 on the road.

Goals from Rodolfo Gamarra (54') and Julio Dos Santos (77') enabled Cerro Porteno to erase a two-goal deficit on the road and gain a 2-2 draw with O'Higgins.  Eduardo Lopez (35') and Luis Figueroa (46') provided the scoring for the hosts.

At Cali, Colombia:

Carlos Lizarazo's successful penalty kick in the 73rd minute lifted Deportivo Cali to a 2-1 come-from-behind home win over Lanus.
