Group-stage play in Group A of the OFC Champions League commenced on Wednesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka, Fiji.
In the opener, Sam French (19') and Benjamin Totori (32') carried Waitakere United (New Zealand) to a 2-0 victory over Kiwi FC from Samoa.
In match two, Jimmy Tepa scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 26th minute as AS Pirae (Tahiti) defeated Solomon Warriors from the Solomon Islands 2-1.
