At Bridgeview, Illinois:
Mix Diskerud scored the winning goal in the 63rd minute as New York City FC knocked off the Chicago Fire 4-3 on the road.
At Orlando, Florida:
Cyle Larin (90'+4) and Adrian Winter (90'+5) each scored a goal a minute apart during second-half stoppage time as Orlando City bounced back from a two-goal deficit to salvage a 2-2 home draw with Real Salt Lake. Joao Plata scored twice (PK-26', 66') for the guests.
At San Jose, California:
Chris Wondolowski scored the only goal of the match in the 46th minute as the San Jose Earthquakes defeated the visiting Colorado Rapids 1-0.
At Houston:
Goals from Diego Fagundez (3'), Charlie Davies (53'), and Daigo Kobayashk (90'+3) enabled the New England Revolution gained a 3-3 road draw with the Houston Dynamo. Cristian Maidana (45'+1), Andrew Wenger (50'), and Giles Barnes (77') each scored once for the hosts.

Fanendo Adi scored the winning goal in the 79th minute as the Portland Timbers launched their MLS Cup title defense by defeating the visiting Columbus Crew 2-1.

Ignacio Piatti scored twice (19', 88') and assisted on Dominic Oduro's 42nd-minute tally as the Montreal Impact knocked off the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-2 on the road.
At Seattle:
Nuno Coelho scored the game's lone goal in the 73rd minute as Sporting Kansas City defeated the home-standing Seattle Sounders 1-0.
At Carson, California:
Mike Magee scored twice in the second half (64', 87') as the Los Angeles Galaxy easily overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit and ran roughshod over visiting DC United 4-1.
