MLS Cup Playoffs: Philly, Galaxy Advance

The opening round of the MLS Cup Playoffs closed out with two games on Sunday.

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

Alejandro Bedoya (30'), Jack Elliot (58'), Fafa Picault (78') each scored once in regulation, then Marco Fabian scored the game winner in overtime (105'+1) as the Philadelphia Union overcame a 3-1 halftime deficit to upend the visiting New York Red Bulls 4-3 at home for their first-ever playoff victory.



WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At St. Paul, Minnesota:

Sebastian Lletget (71') and Jonathan dos Santos (75') each scored a goal in the final half-hour four minutes apart as the Los Angeles Galaxy spoiled Minnesota United's playoff debut 2-1 as they were the only club to win on the road in the opening round.
