UEFA Champions League, Group G: Lyon Join Leipzig In Knockout Stage; Eagles Beat Zenit For Europa League Berth

Action in Group G of the UEFA Champions League concluded on Tuesday with two games.

At Lisbon, Portugal:

Franco Cervi (47'), Pizzi (PK-58'), and Sardar Azmoun (OG-79') each scored once as SL Benfica dominated visiting Zenit Saint Petersburg 3-0 to gain a berth in the Europa League's Round of 32.

At Decines-Charpieu, France:

Houssem Aouar (50') and Memphis Depay (82'; that's him here, celebrating after scoring) each scored once as Lyon erased a two-goal deficit to gain a 2-2 home draw with RB Leipzig and a berth in the Champions League's knockout stage.

1. RB Leipzig (GP: 6; GD: +2; PTS: 11)
2. Lyon (GP: 6; GD: +1; PTS: 8)
3. SL Benfica (GP: 6; GD: -1; PTS: 7)
4. Zenit Saint Petersburg (GP: 6; GD: -2; PTS: 7)

RB Leipzig and Lyon advanced to the Champions League's knockout stage; SL Benfica (by virtue of outscoring Zenit Saint Petersburg 4-3 in their two encounters---with each team winning once) qualified for the knockout stage of the Europa League.
