Matthew Green (15'), James Constable (21'), and Alfie Potter (90') each tallied once as Oxford United won their way back into England's Football League for the first time since 2006 with a 3-1 win Sunday in the English Conference's promotion playoff final at Wembley Stadium over York City. The Boys From Up The Hill will join regular-season titlists Stevenage Borough in League Two next season.

It's Yorkies Vs. The Boys From The Hill For A Spot In England's Football League
The semifinal round of the English (National) Conference's playoffs for promotion to the Football League (League Two) concluded on Monday.
At Luton, England:
Chris Carruthers scored the only goal of the match at 47 minutes as York City gained a second straight 1-0 win over Luton Town to win their two-match semifinal series 2-0 on aggregate.
At Oxford, England:
Matthew Green (53') and James Constable (57') each tallied once early in the second half as Oxford United defeated visiting Rushden & Diamonds 2-0 in game two and took their two-match set 3-1 on aggregate.
York City will take on Oxford United in the promotion final at London's Wembley Stadium on May 16. The winner will be promoted to the Football League and will play along with already-promoted Stevenage Borough in League Two. The Yorkies last played in the Football League in 2004, the Boys From the Hill, in 2006.

English Conference Promotion Playoffs: Rushden & Diamonds Held To Home Draw By Oxford United; Yorkies Take Opener From Luton Town Thanks To Late Goal
Playoffs for promotion from the English (National) Conference to the Football League (League Two) got under way as the two two-match semifinal series commenced on Thursday.
At Irthlingborough, England:
Mark Byrne's equalizer at 51 minutes enabled Rushden & Diamonds to salvage a 1-1 home draw with Oxford United in game one of their two-match set. James Constable scored what could still be a precious road goal for the Boys From Up The Hill at 29 minutes.
At York, England:
Richard Brodie scored the only goal of the match at 90 minutes as York City, at the death, took match one of their two-game series with Luton Town 1-0.
