It's Yorkies Vs. The Boys From The Hill For A Spot In England's Football League

The semifinal round of the English (National) Conference's playoffs for promotion to the Football League (League Two) concluded on Monday.

At Luton, England:

Chris Carruthers scored the only goal of the match at 47 minutes as York City gained a second straight 1-0 win over Luton Town to win their two-match semifinal series 2-0 on aggregate.

At Oxford, England:

Matthew Green (53') and James Constable (57') each tallied once early in the second half as Oxford United defeated visiting Rushden & Diamonds 2-0 in game two and took their two-match set 3-1 on aggregate.

York City will take on Oxford United in the promotion final at London's Wembley Stadium on May 16.  The winner will be promoted to the Football League and will play along with already-promoted Stevenage Borough in League Two.  The Yorkies last played in the Football League in 2004, the Boys From the Hill, in 2006.
