In Wednesday's finale of the CONCACAF Champions League, Nicolas Sanchez successfully converted his penalty kick in the 25th minute as Monterrey gained a 1-1 game-two home draw with local rivals Tigres, enabling the Striped Gang to win the championship 2-1 on aggregate, earning them their fourth continental club title.
This marked the 14th successive season that the CONCACAF club champions are from Mexico.

CONCACAF Champions League Final: Striped Gang Knock Off Tigres On Road In Series Opener

In Tuesday's opening contest of the CONCACAF Champions League Final, Nicolas Sanchez scored the winning goal in the 43rd minute as Monterrey defeated Tigres 1-0 on the road.
The series is set to conclude next Wednesday at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (Univision Deportes Network) on the Striped Gang's pitch at BBVA Bancomer Stadium in Guadalupe.
