Amr Mohamed El Solia (5') and Mohamed Magdy (86') each scored once on Friday as Al-Ahly defeated Zamalek 2-1 for their record CAF Champions League championship.

ESPERANCE DE TUNIS BATTLE BACK FROM TWO-GOAL SERIES-OPENING DEFEAT TO CAPTURE AFRICAN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

At Rades, Tunisia:

Saad Buir scored twice (45'+1, 54') and Anice Badri once (86') once on Friday as Esperance de Tunis overcame their 3-1 series-opening road defeat by defeating visiting Al-Ahly 3-0 in game two of the CAF Champions League and won the series 4-3 on aggregate.

It was the Tunisian club's first African club title since 2011.

Esperance de Tunis will play in the quarterfinal round of next month's FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, starting in the quarterfinal round against the winner of the Al-Ain-Team Wellington match.

CAF Champions League Final, Game One: Al-Ahly Down ES Tunis In Series Opener

At Alexandria, Egypt:

In Friday's opening match of the CAF Champions League Final, Walid Soliman converted two penalty kicks (34', 77') as Al-Ahly defeated visiting Esperance de Tunis 3-1.

The series will conclude next Friday at Rades, Tunisia.

The winner would advance to the quarterfinal round of next month's FIFA Club World Cup, to be staged in the United Arab Emirates.

WYDAD CASABLANCA KNOCK OFF AL-AHLY TO WIN AFRICAN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

At Casablanca, Morocco:

Walid El Karti scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute on Saturday as Wydad Casablanca defeated visiting Al-Ahly 1-0 in game two of the CAF Champions League Final and captured the African club title 2-1 on aggregate.

The championship was the Moroccan club's second, their first since 1992.

Wydad will play in next month's FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United Arab Emirates.

CAF Champions League Final: Wydad Casablanca Gain Series-Opening 1-1 Road Draw With Al-Ahly

At Alexandria, Egypt:

In Saturday's opening match of the CAF Champions League, Achraf Bencharki's equalizer in the 16th minute lifted Morocco's Wydad Casablanca to a series-opening 1-1 road draw with Al-Ahly.

Momen Zakaria scored for the Egyptian club in the third minute.

The series is set to conclude next Saturday at Casablanca, Morocco with the winner advancing to the FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates in December.

Al-Ahly has won a record eight African continental club championships while Wydad Casablanca's lone title came in 1992 (this is their first appearance in the Final since 2011).

EIGHT IS GREAT FOR REPEAT CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WINNERS AL-AHLY

At Cairo:

Mohamed Aboutrika (54') and Ahmed El-Zaher (78') provided the scoring on Sunday as Al-Ahly won their second straight African club championship (and their eighth overall) with their 2-0 home blanking of South Africa's Orlando Pirates in game two of the CAF Champions League final, enabling the Egyptian powerhouse to win the series 3-1 on aggregate.

Al-Ahly will travel to Morocco for next month's FIFA Club World Cup.

CAF Champions League: Al-Ahly Gain 1-1 Series-Opening Road Draw With Orlando Pirates

At Johannesburg, South Africa:

Thablo Matlaba's stoppage-time equalizer (90'+3) enabled Orlando Pirates to salvage a 1-1 Saturday home draw with Al-Ahly in the opening match of the CAF Champions League Final.  Mohamed Aboutrika scored for the defending champions in the 14th minute.

The series will be decided next Sunday at Cairo, Egypt.

AL AHLY OUST DEFENDING CHAMPS WITH 2-1 GAME-TWO TRIUMPH ON ROAD; CAPTURE SIXTH AFRICAN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

At Rades, Tunisia:

Goals delivered by Mohamed Gedo Nagi (43') and Waleed Soliman (62') lifted Al Ahly to a 2-1 road victory over defending champions Esperance ST in Saturday's second game of the CAF Champions League final, enabling the Egyptian club to win their seventh African continental club championship 3-2 on aggregate.

Al Ahly will play in next month's FIFA Club World Cup, which will be played in Japan.  On December 9 at Toyota, they will play in a quarterfinal-round contest between the winner of the opening contest between the J. League champions (either Sanfrecce Hiroshima or Vegalta Sendai) and OFC Champions League titleholders Auckland City.

AFC Champions League Final, Game One: Late Goal Salvages Series-Opening Home Draw For Al-Ahly

At Cairo, Egypt:

Al Sayed Hamdy's equalizer in the 88th minute enabled Al-Ahly to salvage a series-opening 1-1 Sunday home draw with defending champions Esperance ST as the CAF Champions League's two-match final commenced.  Walid Hichri scored a potentially precious away goal for the visiting Tunisian club in the 49th minute.

The second match in this series will be played at Rades, Tunisia on November 17.  The winner of this series will play in next month's FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.
