REPEAT AFRICAN CLUB TITLE FOR ES TUNIS

At Rades, Tunisia:

In Friday's second game of the CAF Champions League Final, Mohamed Belaili scored the lone goal of the match in the 41st minute as Esperance de Tunis defeated visiting Wydad Casablanca 1-0 to capture their second straight African club championship (and fourth overall) 2-1 on aggregate.

CAF Champions League Final: Wydad Casablanca And Visiting ES Tunis Draw In In Series Opener

At Rabat, Morocco:

In Friday's opening match of the two-game CAF Champions League Final, Cheick Comara's goal in the 79th minute carried Wydad Casablanca to a 1-1 series-opening draw with Esperance de Tunis.

Fousseny Coulibaly scored for the visiting Tunisian club in the 44th minute.

WYDAD CASABLANCA KNOCK OFF AL-AHLY TO WIN AFRICAN CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

At Casablanca, Morocco:

Walid El Karti scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute on Saturday as Wydad Casablanca defeated visiting Al-Ahly 1-0 in game two of the CAF Champions League Final and captured the African club title 2-1 on aggregate.

The championship was the Moroccan club's second, their first since 1992.

Wydad will play in next month's FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United Arab Emirates.

CAF Champions League Final: Wydad Casablanca Gain Series-Opening 1-1 Road Draw With Al-Ahly

At Alexandria, Egypt:

In Saturday's opening match of the CAF Champions League, Achraf Bencharki's equalizer in the 16th minute lifted Morocco's Wydad Casablanca to a series-opening 1-1 road draw with Al-Ahly.

Momen Zakaria scored for the Egyptian club in the third minute.

The series is set to conclude next Saturday at Casablanca, Morocco with the winner advancing to the FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates in December.

Al-Ahly has won a record eight African continental club championships while Wydad Casablanca's lone title came in 1992 (this is their first appearance in the Final since 2011).

ESPERANCE SPORT TUNIS CAPTURE CAF CROWN

At Tunis:





Harrison Afful (that's him pictured here) scored the only goal, not only of the match, but the entire two-game series in the 21st minute on Saturday as Esperance ST defeated visiting Wydad Casablanca 1-0 in both game two and the two-match final for the CAF Champions League crown.  For the Tunisian club, it was their first African continental club championship since 1994.  They will play in next month's FIFA Club World Cup, to take place in Japan.

CAF Champions League Final: Scoreless Series Opener In Casablanca

At Casablanca, Morocco:


Sunday's opening match of the two-game CAF Champions League final, between Wydad Casablanca and visiting Esperance ST, ended in a 0-0 stalemate.  The series will conclude this coming Saturday in Tunis.
