FIVE STRIPES HOLD OFF AMERICA TO WIN CAMPEONES CUP

At Atlanta:

Josef Martinez's successfully-converted 65th-minute penalty kick on Wednesday produced the winning goal as Atlanta United upended visiting Club America 3-2 to win the Campeones Cup title as the game matched last year's MLS Cup winners and Mexico's Champion of Champions.

CLUB AMERICA DEFEAT TIGRES TO CLAIM ANOTHER CONCACAF CLUB TITLE

At Mexico City:

Michael Arroyo (68') and Osvaldo Martinez (PK-87') each scored a goal on Wednesday as Club America defeated visiting Tigres 2-1 in game two of the CONCACAF Champions League Final and won their seventh continental club title and a berth in December's FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in Japan.

CONCACAF Champions League Final: Club America Get Jump On Tigres In Series Opener On Road

At San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico:

In Wednesday's opening game of the CONCACAF Champions League Final, Dario Benedetto (49') and Osvaldo Martinez (90'+3) delivered the scoring as Club America blanked Tigres 2-0 on the road.

The series will conclude next Wednesday at Mexico City.  The winner of this series will advance to December's FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in Japan.

NO, CANADA: CLUB AMERCIA ERUPT FOR FOUR SECOND-HALF GOALS, BURY IMPACT TO WIN CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CROWN

At Montreal:

Before the largest crowd to attend a professional soccer match in Canada (61,004 at Olympic Stadium), Dario Benedetto delivered a hat trick (50', 66', 81') as Club America erased a one-goal halftime and series-aggregate deficit and overpowered the Montreal Impact 4-2 on the road in the second game of the CONCACAF Champions League Final on Wednesday and won their record-tying sixth CONCACAF club title 5-3 on aggregate.

The Mexican club will play in December's FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in Japan.

CONCACAF Champions League Final: Late Equalizer Salvages Series-Opening Home Draw For America While Impact Score Road Goal

At Mexico City:

Oribe Peralta's equalizer in the 89th minute on Wednesday enabled Club America to salvage a 1-1 home draw with the Montreal Impact in the opening match of the CONCACAF Champions League final.  Ignacio Piatti scored what may still prove to be a precious road goal for the Impact in the 16th minute.

The series will conclude next Wednesday night at Montreal's Olympic Stadium at 5:00 PM Pacific Time (Fox Sports 2), with the winner advancing to December's FIFA Club World Cup.

Tigres Held To Home Draw; Eliminated From Apertura Playoffs

At San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico:

Paul Aguilar's equalizer in the 67th minute lifted Club America to a 1-1 Saturday Mexican Liga MX road draw with Tigres.  Juninho scored for the hosts in the 39th minute as the Apertura portion of the 2012-13 season came to a close for both clubs.  Tigres will miss out on the upcoming Apertura playoffs.

Hector Raul Mancilla Garces scored the only goal of the match in the 37th minute as Tigres defeated home-standing Club America 1-0 in Sunday Mexican Primera Division action.

Tigres remained undefeated in Mexican Premira League (Apertura portion) action on Saturday as they picked up their fourth draw in five games, 4-4 at home against Club America.  Patricio Trevino Tripp (OG-66') and Hector Raul Mancilla Garcia (83') provided the scoring for the hosts while the visiting club from Mexico City got their tallies from Cristian Benitez (16') and Renato Michell Gonzalez (89')

Club America And Tigres Battle To Stalemate

UANL Tigres Settled for a 1-1 home deadlock with Club America in Saturday action in Mexico's Premiera Division.  Damian Alvarez scored for Tigres at 41 minutes, but, Daniel Montenegro equalized for the visiting club from Mexico City at 75 minutes to snatch a share of the points.

Fluminense or LDU? One Of 'Em Will Win First Copa Crown

At Rio de Janeiro, Brazil:

Fluminense scored three goals in the final hour of their second semifinal round match on Wednesday with defending champions Boca Juniors to win game two at home 3-1 and the two-game set with the Argentinian club 5-3 on aggregate.

The Rio club will make their first appearance in the finals of the Copa Libertadores. They will face LDU, who will become the first Ecuadorian club to reach the Copa final in 10 years. For the club from Quito, this, too will be their first finals appearance.
