FC TOKYO STAY UP DESPITE ROAD DEFEAT

At Nagoya, Japan:

Marcus Tanaka scored the only goal of the match in the 30th minute on Wednesday as Nagoya Grampus defeated FC Tokyo 1-0 at home in J.League action, enabling them to stay in the race for a berth in next year's AFC Champions League.  Despite the setback, the visitors were assured of remaining in the top level of Japanese soccer for next season.

Nachiro Ishikawa scored twice (59', 73') as FC Tokyo maintained their 100% start to the J.League season with a 3-2 home win over Nagoya Grampus on Saturday.

Antlers Drop Points At Home And Settle For Draw

At Kashima, Japan:


Teruki Tanaka's equalizer in the 82nd minute lifted Nagoya Grampus to a 1-1 Sunday J.League road draw with Kashima Antlers.  Chikashi Masuda scored at 77 minutes for the hosts, who dropped to sixth place in the league standings.

Another Setback For Antlers

In Wednesday J.League action, Joshua Kennedy (35') and Igor Burzanovic (79') each delivered a goal as Nagoya Grampus came from behind to defeat visiting Kashima Antlers 2-1.
