In a warm-up for their FA Cup final encounter with Chelsea (on May 15), Aruna Dindane (20'), John Utaka (39'), and Micheal Brown (67') each scored a goal as Portsmouth defeated visiting Wolverhampton 3-1 in Saturday English Premier League action.  League Championship-bound Pompey took both Premiership encounters with Wolves this season.

Regardless of what happens in their May 15 FA Cup final against Chelsea, there apparently will be no Europa League action for Portsmouth next season.

Pompey Knock Off Wolves For First Win

At Wolverhampton, England:

Hassan Yebda's goal at 19 minutes lifted Portsmouth, who had lost their previous seven games in English Premier League play this season, to a 1-0 road win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Chelsea gave embattled manager Luiz Felipe Scolari the boot on Monday.

Avram Grant, the man Scolari replaced, has emerged as one of the candidates on Chelsea's shortlist to replace the World Cup-winning manager. The other name thought to be on Chelsea's list is Russia's national team coach, Guus Hiddink.

Ray Wilkins replaces Scolari on a temporary basis until a full-time replace can be appointed.

A statement on the Chelsea website read: "Luiz Felipe Scolari has been dismissed as manager of Chelsea Football Club today (Monday) with immediate effect. The Chelsea board would like to place on record our gratitude for his time as manager.
"Felipe has brought many positives to the club since he joined and we all feel a sense of sadness that our relationship has ended so soon.
"Unfortunately the results and performances of the team appeared to be deteriorating at a key time in the season.

Portsmouth also gave their mangager the ax today.

Red Devils Win Shootout With Pompey To Keep FA Community Shield

At London:

After a scoreless 90 minutes, two-time defending Premiership champions Manchester United won the penalty kick shootout with FA cupholders Portsmouth 3-1 to retain the FA Community Shield on Sunday. Carlos Tevez, Ryan Giggs, and Michael Carrick each successfully made his spot kick for the Red Devils. Pictured here is ManU Captain Gary Neville with the Community Shield trophy after the game.
