Two games were played in Major League Soccer on Friday.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

Graham Zusi (80') and Dom Dwyer (90'+2) provided the late scoring as Sporting Kansas City blanked the visiting Chicago Fire 2-0 to stay in the race for the Eastern Conference regular-season title and clinch an MLS Cup playoff berth.

At Seattle:

Kekuta Manneh scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute as the Vancouver Whitecaps clinched their second successive Cascadia Cup crown with their third straight victory, a 1-0 road win over the Seattle Sounders and moved past the Portland Timbers into the Western Conference's fifth and final playoff berth with two regular-season games left. The defeat, their first ever at home in front of a crowd in access of 50,000 fans (in this case, 55, 765), kept the Sounders level on points with the Los Angeles Galaxy for both the Western Conference regular-season title and the Supporters' Shield.
