Matija Katanec's equalizer in the 57th minute enabled Zrinjski Mostar to salvage a series-opening 1-1 home draw with Legia Warsaw. Namanja Nikolic scored for the Polish club in the 49th minute.

Otar Kiteishvili (55') and Girogi Kvilitaia (PK-69') produced the goals that propelled Dinamo Tbilisi to a series-opening 2-0 home victory over Alashkert.
