PORTUGAL UPENDS FRANCE IN OT FOR FIRST EURO (AND MAJOR) TITLE

At Saint-Denis, France:

Despite playing the last 95 minutes without Cristiano Ronaldo (who exited the match in the 25th minute with a knee injury), Portugal, with Eder (seen here) scoring the winning goal in the 109th minute, knocked off hosts France 1-0 in overtime on Sunday to win their first European Championship and first-ever major title.

The Portuguese will play in next year's FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia as a result.
