Cerezo Osaka and visiting Guangzhou Evergrande battled to a 0-0 stalemate.
At Buriram, Thailand:
Lee Chang-min (2') and Magno Cruz (PK-21') each scored once in the opening half hour as Jeju United blanked Buriram United 2-0 on the road.

Luke Wilkshire (28') and Alex Brosque (34') each scored once as Sydney FC gained a 2-2 road draw with Shanghai Shenhua.
Obafemi Martins (26'; remember him Sounders fans?) and Fredy Guarin (39') each scored once for the Chinese club.
