Two games were played on Tuesday as the CONCACAF Champions League opened in earnest.
At Heredia, Costa Rica:
Yendrick Ruiz (PK-90') and Jairo Arrieta (90'+3) each scored once in the final minutes as Herediano overcame a two-goal deficit to salvage a series-opening 2-2 draw with Tigres.
Francisco Meza (15') and Lucas Zalarayan (59') each delivered a goal for the Mexican club.
At Commerce City, Colorado:
Jonathan Osorio (55') and Sebastian Giovinco (73') each scored once as Toronto FC blanked the Colorado Rapids 2-0 on the road in their series-opening match in what you might were ultra chilly conditions at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
