UEFA Champions League: Bayern, Galacticos Open Quarterfinal Series With Road Wins

The quarterfinal round of the UEFA Champions League opened on Tuesday with two games.


At Seville, Spain:

Thiago Alcantara (that's him, third from left, celebrating with teammates after scoring) scored the winning goal in the 68th minute as Bayern Munich opened their series with a 2-1 road win over Sevilla.

At Turin, Italy:

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice (3', 64') as Real Madrid all but punched their tickets for the semifinal round after their series-opening 3-0 road domination of ten-man Juventus.
