At Montreal:
Goals from Laurent Ciman (24'), Benny Feilhaber (52'), Jukka Raitala (OG-57'), Carlos Vela (PK-83'), and Latif Blessing (89') enabled the Los Angeles Football Club to overcome a 3-1 halftime deficit to overcome the Montreal Impact 5-3 on the road.
Ignacio Piatti's first-half hat trick (9', PK-16', 43') provided all the scoring for the hosts.
At Houston:
Mauro Manotas (3') Leonardo (7'), Eric Alexander (46'), Alberth Elis (60'), and Romell Quioto (77') each scored once as the Houston Dynamo destroyed visiting Toronto FC 5-1.
At Harrison, New Jersey:
Aleksandar Katai (30') and Nemanja Nikolic (69') each scored once as the Chicago Fire held off the New York Red Bulls 2-1 on the road.
At Columbus, Ohio:
Teal Bunbury (14') and Cristian Penilla (45'+1) each scored once to lift the New England Revolution to a 2-2 road draw with the Columbus Crew.
The hosts' goals came through the courtesy of Andrew Farrell (OG-9') and Gyasi Zardes (43').
At Orlando, Florida:
Dom Dwyer scored the winning goal in the 69th minute as Orlando City held on for their fourth straight win, 3-2 over the visiting San Jose Earthquakes.
At Frisco, Texas:
Mauro Diaz (PK-64') and Maximiliano Urruti (74') each delivered a second-half goal as FC Dallas remained unbeaten after 2-0 home blanking of the Philadelphia Union.
At Sandy, Utah:
Joao Plata (PK-82'), Damir Kreilach (89'), and Albert Rusnak (90'+2) each scored a goal in the waning minutes as Real Salt Lake broke open what had been a scoreless stalemate and ended up overpowering the visiting Colorado Rapids 3-0 in the opening match of another Rocky Mountain Cup competition.
At Carson, California:
Josef Matinez (22') and Miguel Almiron (PK-90'+4) each scored once as Atlanta United blanked the Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0 on the road.
