At Kiev, Ukraine:
With goals from David Silva (14'), Jordi Alba (41'), Fernando Torres (84'), and Juan Mata (88'), plus another shutout performance from Iker Casillas (that's him with the trophy in his hands celebrating with happy teammates), Spain became the first country to win consecutive European Championship tournament crowns with their 4-0 victory over Italy in Sunday night's final. The Spaniards also became the first to win three consecutive major tournaments (Euro 2008, 2010 World Cup, and Euro 2012).

At Warsaw, Poland:
Mario Balotelli scored twice in the first half (20', 36', the second goal pictured here) as Italy held off Germany 2-1 on Thursday to set up Sunday's European Championship final against defending champions Spain at Kiev, Ukraine.
The Spaniards will try to become the first team to win back-to-back European championships and tie Germany's record with a third title. The Italians will be seeking their first European title since 1968.

At Donetsk, Ukraine:
After 120 scoreless minutes, Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, Sergio Ramos, and with the winning spot kick, Cesc Fabregas, converted their penalty kicks as Spain defeated Portugal 4-2 in the penalty-kick shootout to advance to Sunday's European Championship final in Kiev against the winner of Thursday's Italy-Germany semifinal.

At Kiev, Ukraine:
In the final game of the European Championship's quarterfinal round, after 120 scoreless minutes, Italy defeated England 4-3 in a penalty-kick shootout on Sunday. Mario Balotelli, Andrea Pirlo, Antonio Nocerino, and Alessandro Diamanti converted their spot kicks for the Azzurri, who will face Germany on Thursday at Warsaw, Poland in a semfinal-round encounter, with the winner to play for the title next Sunday against the Spain-Portugal winner. Here's goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon celebrating after the game. He made a key save on Ashley Cole's spot kick during the shootout.
At Donetsk, Ukraine:
Xabi Alonso scored twice (19', shown here beating French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris; PK-90'+1) as Spain defeated France 2-0 on Saturday in a European Championship quarterfinal match. The defending champions will play Portugal in a semifinal match this coming Wednesday as Donetsk with a berth in Next Sunday's final at stake.

At Gdansk, Poland:
Philipp Lahm (39', shown here), Sami Khedira (61'), Miroslav Klose (68'), and Marco Reus (74') each scored once as Germany doubled up Greece 4-2 on Friday in a quarterfinal-round contest in the European Championship. The Germans next Thursday in Warsaw will face the winner of Sunday's Italy-England contest.

Cristiano Ronaldo (that's him here) scored the only goal of the match in the 79th minute on Thursday as Portugal defeated the Czech Republic 1-0 in the opening game of the quarterfinal round of the European Championship. The Navigators will face the winner of Saturday's Spain-France contest in a semifinal-round encounter next Wednesday at Donetsk, Ukraine.

Wayne Rooney scored the only goal of the match in the 48th minute (shown here) as England won Group D 1-0 over Ukraine, eliminating the co-hosts from the tournament. The Three Lions will take on Italy in a quarterfinal-round contest on Sunday at Kiev.
At Kiev:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (54', shown here) and Sebastian Larsson (90') each tallied a goal as Sweden, already eliminated from the tournament, showed a lot of grit and knocked off France 2-0. Despite the defeat, Les Bleus still advanced to the quarterfinal round and will take on defending champions Spain on Saturday at Dontesk.

Lukas Podolski (19') and Lars Bender (80') provided the scoring as Germany won Group B with their 2-1 win over Denmark. Michael Krohn-Dehli scored the only goal of the match for the now-eliminated Danes in the 24th minute, as seen here. Next up for the Germans, a quarterfinal-round encounter with Greece this coming Friday at Gdansk, Poland.

At Warsaw:
Giorgos Karagounis (that's him in the white jersey) scored the only goal of the match in first-half stoppage time (45'+2) as Greece stunned Russia 1-0 to advance to the knockout stage.

In a match that was suspended in the fifth minute due to heavy rainfall and a thunderstorm, only to resume 55 minutes later, Jeremy Menez (53') and Yohan Cabaye (56', shown here, beating goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov) each scored a goal as France blanked Ukraine 2-0.
At Kiev:
Andy Carroll (23'), Theo Walcott (64'), and Danny Welbeck (78') each scored a goal as England came back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat and eliminate Sweden 3-2.
