MLS: SKC, Philly Clinch Playoff Berths

Six games were played in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

With goals from Teal Bunbury (57') and C. J. Sapong (73'), Sporting Kansas City locked up a playoff berth with a 2-0 home win over the New York Red Bulls, who played roughly half the game with ten men after Thierry Henry was ejected.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

The Philadelphia Union settled for a 1-1 home draw with Toronto FC, good enough to clinch their first playoff berth.  Sebastien Le Toux scored for the Union at 43 minutes, only to see Ryan Johnson equalize for the already-eliminated Reds in the 57th minute.

At Washington:

In a game that had been scoreless for 87 minutes, Sebastian Grazzini and Diego Chaves scored during second-half stoppage time to carry the Chicago Fire to a 2-1 come-from-behind road win over DC United to keep their flickering playoff chances alive.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Andres Mendoza's double (31', 63') helped spark the Columbus Crew to a 3-0 road win over the New England Revolution.

At Frisco, Texas:

With Marvin Chavez (34') and Brek Shea (53') providing the goals, FC Dallas defeated the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0 in a tuneup for the upcoming MLS Cup playoffs, as well as their CONCACAF Champions League group-stage finale against Toronto FC.

At Seattle:

Before a crowd of 64,140 fans, veteran goalkeeper Kasey Keller, who was honored (he played his last regular-season home game) for his long professional soccer career, made ten saves, while Sammy Ochoa (81') and Fredy Montero (86') came up with the goals as the Seattle Sounders, already bound for both the MLS Cup Playoffs and the knockout stage of the CONCACAF Champions League, came from behind to upend the visiting San Jose Earthquakes 2-1.
