Europa League: Group Stage Play Concludes; Citizens Win Group A; Atletico Eliminated

Twelve games were played on Thursday as group stage play in the Europa League came to a close.

At Walz-Siezenheim, Austria:

Semir Stilic scored the only goal of the match at 30 minutes as Lech Poznan defeated Red Bull Salzburg 1-0 on the road. 

At Turin, Italy:

Jo's equalizer at 76 minutes enabled Manchester City to gain a 1-1 road draw with Juventus, good enough to secure first place in Group A for the visiting Citizens.

Despite being held to a 0-0 home stalemate with fellow knockout-stage entrants FC Metalist Kharkiv, PSV Eindhoven won Group I.

2010 FIFA Club World Cup: Historic Victory For TP Mazembe

Moluta Kabangu (52', shown here) and Dioko Kaluyituka (85') provided the scoring as TP Mazembe shocked Internacional 2-0 in Tuesday semifinal action in the FIFA Club World Cup.  The Congolese club became not only the first African club, but the first from outside Europe and South America to reach the final of this tournament.  On Saturday, TP Mazembe will play in the championship match against the winners of Wednesday's Seognam Ilhwa Chunma-Inter Milan semifinal.
