Juninho provided the winning goal in second-half stoppage time (90'+1) as the Los Angeles Galaxy defeated Morelia 2-1.

Mario Martinez provided the equalizer in the 61st minute as Real Espana salvaged a 1-1 home deadlock with Santos Laguna.  Carlos Ochoa scored for the visitors, who clinched a berth in the quarterfinal round, at 51 minutes.

At Nova Gorica, Slovenia:


Miha Gregoric (35') and Goran Galesic (45') provided the goal power that lifted ND Gorica to a 2-1 Wednesday 1.SNL home win over Olimpija Ljubljana, enabling the hosts to climb within three points of the top of the league standings.

AFC Champions League: Suwon Bluewings and Al-Sadd (Helped By Forfeit Win In Game One) Advance To Semifinals

The second contest of each of the two remaining series from the quarterfinal round of the AFC Champions League took place on Wednesday.


At Isfahan, Iran:


After Yang Sang-Min's 77th-minute equalizer lifted Suwon Samsung Bluewings to a 1-1 road draw in game two with Zob Ahan, causing the two-game series to be deadlocked at 2-2, Mato Neretkjak scored the series-winning goal in overtime (99'), enabling the South Korean club to win the series 3-2 on aggregate.


At Doha, Qatar:


Despite dropping a 2-1 game-two decision at home to Sepahan, Al-Sadd won their two-game series 4-2 on aggregate.  The club from Qatar were awarded a 3-0 forfeit win in the opening contest from two weeks ago in Iran when the Iranian club were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player (Zob Ahan had actually won that game 1-0).


The semifinal round is scheduled to start on October 19 with Al-Sadd visiting Suwon Samsung Bluewings and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors at Al-Ittihad, with the return contests for both series taking place on October 26.


The semifinal series winners will square off in a one-match final, set to take place on November 4 or 5 at a site still to be determined.  The winner would move on to December's FIFA Club World Cup, to take place in Japan.







UEFA Champions League Group H: Smashing Win In Belarus For Barca; Home Shutout Win For Rossoneri

AFC Champions League: Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Al-Ittihad Advance To Semifinals

The second contests of two quarterfinal-round series in the AFC Champions League were played on Tuesday.


At Jeonju, South Korea:


Lee Dong-Gook delivered four goals, all in the second half (49', 55', 64', 90'+1) as Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors overturned a 4-3 game-one defeat in Japan with a 6-1 demolition of visiting Cerezo Osaka in game two and won their two-game series 9-5 on aggregate.


At Seoul, South Korea:


Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two decision on the road, Al-Ittihad still won their two-game series with FC Seoul 3-2 on aggregate.

Smackdown Derby Win Over Slavia Keeps Sparta Perfect In League Campaign
