Smooth Sailin' For Fenerbahce
On Tuesday, on the road at Torshavn, Faroe Islands, Fenerbahce of Istanbul completed their beatdown of B36 with a 5-0 fistbeating, thus taking their two-game total-goals set in the second round of qualifying for the 2006-07, by an aggregate of 9-0. The amateur side from the Faroe Islands, who played impressively in their first qualifying round victory over Maltese side Birkirkira (5-2, including a 3-0 blanking in Malta), were simply out of their league when they played the Turkish side. Fenerbahce was clearly a step up in class for B36. Details here. Next up for the team known as the Yellow Canaries will be a third-round qualiying matchup against Dynamo Kiev, with the first match to take place next week in Kiev, Ukraine.
