Busy Sunday In Serie A

Seven games were played Sunday in Italy's Serie A:

At Rimini:

In a game that was moved to a neutral site from Catania (as will the rest of The Elephants' remaining scheduled home contests this season as Angelo Massimino Stadium is undergoing safety and security upgrades) and played behind closed doors, Luca Toni's late tally (87') lifted Fiorentina to a 1-0 road win over Catania Calcio.

At Ascoli:

Andrea Soncin's second-half double (58', 69') enabled basement residents Ascoli to bounce back from a two-goal halftime deficit to gain a 2-2 home draw with Udinese.

At Palermo:

Victor Obinna's goal at 45 minutes enabled Chievo Verona to gain a key 1-1 road stalemate with third-place Palermo which allowed them to stay above the relegation zone.

At Parma:

Fabio Quagliarella's goal (58') was the differnce as Sampdoria won at home, 1-0 over relegation-threatened Parma.

At Rome:

Goran Pandev scored both goals (11', 60') in Lazio's 2-0 home win over Torino.

At Reggio Calabria:

An own goal from Maurizio Lanzaro (74') enabled visiting Atalanta to gain a 1-1 road draw with Reggina.

At Livorno:

Goals from Stefano Fiore (26') and Cristiano Lucarelli (69') enabled hosts Livorno to hold off relegation-threatened Messina 2-1.
