Mario Bolatti scored the only goal of the match at 84 minutes as Argentina secured a spot in next year's FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa with a 1-0 road win over Uruguay. The Uruguayans will finish in fifth place in COMNEBOL qualifying thus qualifying them for a two-set match with the fifth-placed team from CONCACAF (Costa Rica) for the trip to South Africa.
Argentina will join Brazil, Paraguay, and Chile in the field of 32 for next year's World Cup.
