At Washington:

Jesus Padilla scored an insurance goal at 53 minutes as Chivas USA delivered a potentially crippling blow to DC United's playoff chances with a 2-0 win on the road.

At Columbus, Ohio:

Roger Levesque scored his first career goal at 36 minutes as Seattle Sounders FC ended the Columbus Crew's league-record 24 game home unbeaten streak 1-0.

At Commerce City, Colorado:

Conor Casey's successful penatly kick at 58 minutes enabled the Colorado Rapids to salvage a 1-1 home stalemate with New England. The Revolution had a 1-0 halftime advantage, thanks to Kheli Dube's goal at 29 minutes.

At Santa Clara, California:

Ryan Johnson's penalty kick at 24 minutes proved to be all the scoring as the San Jose Earthquakes remained mathematically alive for a playoff berth following their 1-0 home win over the already-eliminated New York Red Bulls.
