Chad Barrett (42') and Omar Gonzalez (72') each scored a goal as the Los Angeles Galaxy held off the Chicago Fire 2-1 on the road.


At Portland, Oregon:


Jack Jewsbury (13'), Kenny Cooper (35'), and Rodney Wallace (55') each scored a goal as the Portland Timbers held off FC Dallas 3-2 at home.


At Houston:


Hunter Freeman scored the only goal of the match at 86 minutes as the Houston Dynamo defeated the visiting New England Revolution 1-0.
