At Portland:
Fanendo Adi (17') and Diego Valeri (74') each scored once while goalkeeper Jake Gleeson made four critical second-half saves as the Portland Timbers defeated visiting Toronto FC 2-1.
At Kansas City, Kansas:
The Los Angeles Galaxy, despite finishing with ten men, gained a 1-1 road draw with Sporting Kansas City. Brad Davis scored for the hosts in the 30th minute, while Giovani dos Santos equalized for the Galaxy 12 minutes later.
