The Buckeye Derby contest between FC Cincinnati and the visiting Columbus Crew ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
At Chester, Pennsylvania:
Kacper Przybylko (7', 16') scored twice early to help lead the Philadelphia Union to a 4-1 home domination of DC United.
At Harrison, New Jersey:
Anton Tinnerholm scored what proved to be the game winner in the 53rd minute as New York City doused the visiting Chicago Fire 3-1.
At Foxborough, Massachusetts:
Gustavo Bou's equalizer in the 41st minute carried the New England Revolution to a 1-1 home draw with the New York Red Bulls.
Omir Fernandez scored for the Red Bulls in the 35th minute.
At Frisco, Texas:
Dafa Picault (11'), Jesus Ferreira (12'), and Reto Ziegler (PK-90'+6) each scored once as FC Dallas defeated visiting Minnesota United 3-1.
At Commerce City, Colorado:
Gianluca Busio's equalizer in the 67th minute carried Sporting Kansas City to a 1-1 home draw with Colorado.
Cole Bassett scored for the Rapids in the 57th minute.
At Carson, California:
Sebastian Lletget scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute as the Los Angeles Galaxy won the latest installment of the California Clasico, 3-2 at home over the San Jose Earthquakes.
At Portland, Oregon:
Goals from Giuseppe Rossi (90') and Sam Johnson (90'+4) in the final minutes enabled Real Salt Lake to come back from two goals down to gain a 4-4 road draw with the Portland Timbers.
Corey Baird (19') and Damir Kreilach (48') also scored for the guests.
Diego Chara (6'), Jaroslaw Niezgoda (21'), Sebastian Blanco (70'), and Felipe Mora (85') each scored once for the Timbers.
