CONCACAF Champions League: Quarterfinal Round Set To Conclude On Wednesday

 The quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Champions League is set to conclude with two games, to be telecast on Fox Sports 2, both a Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.


Game #1:


Atlanta United FC (USA) vs. Club America (Mexico), game two (America up 3-0 on aggregate after game one), 5:00 PM Pacific Time


Game #2:


Los Angeles Football Club (USA) vs. Cruz Azul (Mexico), one-game series, 7:30 PM Pacific Time

CONCACAF Champions League: Olimpia, Tigres Advance To Semifinals

 After a nine-month break, the quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Champions League resumed on Tuesday with two games, both at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.


Game #1:


Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two "home" decision to the Montreal Impact, Honduras' CD Olimpia, with the aggregate score at 2-2, advanced on away goals.


Game #2:


Andre-Pierre Gignac (30'), Leonardo Fernandez (49'), Rafael Carioca (64'), and Javier Aquino (85') each scored once as designated hosts Tigres demolished New York City 4-0 in game two of their series, won by the Mexican club 5-0 on aggregate.

CONCACAF Champions League: Could It Be Another Broken Record (Rough Night For CityZens, Five Stripes Against Mexican Clubs)?

The quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Champions League continued on Wednesday with two games.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Eduardo Vargas scored the game-winning second-half stoppage-time goal (90'+2) as Tigres knocked off New York City 1-0 on the road in their series opener.

At Mexico City:

Leo Suarez (11'), Henry Martin (13'), and Bruno Valdez (36') each scored a goal as Club America opened their series with Atlanta United by dominating the visiting Five Stripes 3-0.

CONCACAF Champions League: LAFC Stun Leon In Major Comeback; Sounders Knocked Out By Olimpia In PK Shootout

The CONCACAF Champions League's opening round wraped up on Thursday with two games.

At Los Angeles:

Carlos Vela scored twice (27', 77') and Diego Rossi once (79') as the Los Angeles Football Club overcame their two-goal series-opening defeat with a 3-0 game-two home domination of Club Leon and knocked out the Mexican club 3-2 on aggregate.

At Seattle:

After Carlos Pineda's 86th-minute equalizer carried CD Olimpia to a 2-2 game-two regulation road draw with the Seattle Sounders that leveled the series at 4-4 on aggregate, and with overtime dispensed with, Justin Arboleda, Jorge Benguche, Edwin Rodriguez, and Johnny Leveron all converted their spot kicks as the Honduran club won the penalty-kick shootout 4-2 to advance to the quarterfinal round.

CONCACAF Champions League: America, Tigres, CityZens, Impact Advance To Quarterfinals

The opening round of the CONCACAF Champions League continued on Wednesday with four games.

At Mexico City:

After a second 1-1 draw between Club America and visiting Comunicaciones which squared the series at 2-2 on aggregate (and with overtime dispensed with), Victor Aguilera, Jesus Escoboza, Bruno Valdez, Andres Ibarguen, and Francisco Cordova all converted spot kicks as America won the penalty-kick shootout 5-3 to advance to the quarterfinal round.

At San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico:

Andre-Pierra Gignac scored twice (18', PK-23') as Tigres doubled up visiting Alianza 4-2 in game two and won their series 5-4 on aggregate.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Alexander Callens scored the only goal of the match in the 41st minute as New York City defeated visiting San Carlos 1-0 in game two and won their series 6-3 on aggregate.

At Montreal:

A 0-0 game-two home stalemate with Deportivo Saprissa was good enough for the Montreal Impact as they won their series with the Costa Rican club on away goals as the aggregate score read 2-2.

CONCACAF Champions League: Five Stripes, Cruz Azul Advance to Quarterfinals

The second half of the opening round of the CONCACAF Champions League commenced on Tuesday with two games.

At Kennesaw, Georgia:

Pity Martinez scored twice (40', 83') and Josef Martinez once (61') as Atlanta United dominated visiting Motagua 3-0 in game two of their series and ousted the Honduran club 4-1 on aggregate.

At Mexico City:

Orbelin Pineda (22'), Lucas Passerini (59'), Pablo Cappelini (PK-76'), and Jonathan Borja (90') each scored once as Cruz Azul demolished visiting Portmore United 4-0 in game two and finished off their Jamaican guests 6-1 on aggregate.

CONCACAF Champions League

The opening round of the CONCACAF Champions League reached its' midway point on Thursday with two games.

At Alajuela, Costa Rica:

Heber produced a hat trick (13', 35', PK-52') as New York City upended hosts San Carlos 5-3 in the opening match of their two-game series.

At San Pedro Sula, Honduras:

Yustin Arboleda scored twice (63', 81') as CD Olimpia came from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 series-opening home draw with the Seattle Sounders.

Joao Paulo scored two precious road goals (6', 54') for the Sounders.

CONCACAF Champions League

The opening round of the CONCACAF Champions League is set to continue on Wednesday with three games.

At Guatemala City, Guatemala:

Francisco Cordova's 90th-minute equalizer lifted Club America to a 1-1 series-opening road draw with Comunicaciones.

Gerardo Gordillo scored for the Guatemalan club in the 81st minute.

At San Salvador, El Salvador:

Oswaldo Blanco scored the winning goal in the 54th minute as Alianza defeated visiting Tigres 2-1 in their series opener.

At San Jose, Costa Rica:

Johan Venegas (80') and Ariel Rodriguez (90') each scored a late goal that enabled Deportivo Saprissa to erase a two-goal deficit and gain a series-opening 2-2 home draw with the Montreal Impact.

Orji Okwonkwo (12') and Romell Quioto (22') each tallied once for the Canadian club.

CONCACAF Champions League

Three games were contested on Tuesday as the CONCACAF Champions League commenced.

At San Pedro Sula, Honduras:

Josef Martinez's equalizer in the 35th minute carried Atlanta United to a 1-1 series-opening road draw with Motagua.

Roberto Moreira scored just one minute earlier for the hosts.

At Kingston, Jamaica:

Lucas Passerini (90'+6) and Jonathan Rodriguez (90'+9) each scored a goal deep into second-half stoppage time as Cruz Azul came back in stunning fashion to upend Portmore United 2-1 on the road to capture the opening game of their two-match series.

At Leon, Mexico:

Jean Meneses (21') and Angel Mena (89') each scored once as Club Leon blanked the visiting Los Angeles Football Club 2-0 in their series opener.
