CONCACAF Champions League: LAFC Stun Leon In Major Comeback; Sounders Knocked Out By Olimpia In PK Shootout

The CONCACAF Champions League's opening round wraped up on Thursday with two games.

At Los Angeles:

Carlos Vela scored twice (27', 77') and Diego Rossi once (79') as the Los Angeles Football Club overcame their two-goal series-opening defeat with a 3-0 game-two home domination of Club Leon and knocked out the Mexican club 3-2 on aggregate.

At Seattle:

After Carlos Pineda's 86th-minute equalizer carried CD Olimpia to a 2-2 game-two regulation road draw with the Seattle Sounders that leveled the series at 4-4 on aggregate, and with overtime dispensed with, Justin Arboleda, Jorge Benguche, Edwin Rodriguez, and Johnny Leveron all converted their spot kicks as the Honduran club won the penalty-kick shootout 4-2 to advance to the quarterfinal round.
