CSKA Moscow, with goals from Milos Krasic (41', that's him, scoring against Beskitas goalkeeper Rustu Recber) and Evgeni Aldonin (90'+5), defeated Besiktas 2-1 on the road to claim a berth in the knockout stage.

At Wolfsburg, Germany:

Michael Owen's hat trick (44', 83', 90'+1, that's him celebrating) powered Manchester United to a 3-0 road win over VfL Wolfsburg that knocked the German club of the Champions League.
