UCL Group F: Blues Win Group Despite Setback

Wednesday saw the end of action in Group F in the UEFA Champions League with a pair of contests.

At Marseille, France:

Florent Malouda of Chelsea is brought down by Souleymane Diawara of Marseille

At Zilina, Slovakia:

Players of Spartak Moscow try to calm down their fans against Msk Zilina
Alex Raphael Meschini (54') and Ibson (61') each delivered a goal as Europa League-bound Spartak Moscow came from behind to defeat MSK Zilina 2-1 on the road.  The game was somewhat overtaken by what would be described as boorish behavior by visiting Spartak "fans."  Pictured here are Spartak players trying to calm down their fans.

1. Chelsea (GP: 6; GD: +10; PTS: 15)
2. Marseille (GP: 6; GD: +9; PTS: 12)
3. Spartak Moscow (GP: 6; GD: -3; PTS: 9)
4. MSK Zilina (GP: 6; GD: -16; PTS: 0)

Chelsea and Marseille advanced to the knockout stage of the Champions League.  Spartak Moscow qualified for the Europa League's group stage.  MSK Zilina have been eliminated from European competition.
