FA Cup: Wolves Fall To Brumbies; Seagulls Finish Off Last Remaining Non-League Team

Two more third-round replays in England's FA Cup took place on Wednesday.


At Wolverhampton, England:


Wade Elliot provided the only goal of the match in the 74th minute as Birmingham City (League Championship) knocked off Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 on the road.  Sheffield United (League One) will play host to the Brumbies in fourth-round action.


At Wrexham, Wales:


After Ashley Barnes delivered the equalizer in the 77th minute, and after 30 scoreless minutes of overtime with the score at 1-1, Brighton & Hove Albion (League Championship)--with Ashley Barnes, Matthew Sparrow, Liam Bridcutt, Inigo Calderon, and Craig Mackail-Smith all converting their spot kicks--won the penalty-kick shootout, 5-4 over Wrexham, the Conference National club who were the last remaining non-league team left in the tournament. The Seagulls will get a fourth-round encounter next with Newcastle United.
