After 120 scoreless minutes, Tim Payne, John Irving, Darren White (seen here battling with Noussair El Maimouni for the ball), and Sanni Issa each converted a spot kick as Auckland City defeated Moghreb Tetouan (who won the title last season in the host country's top flight) 4-3 in the penalty kick shootout to win the opening match of the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup, which is being played in Morocco.

This coming Saturday, the reigning champions of Oceania will take on Algeria's El Setif, champions of Africa, in the quarterfinal round in the front half of a doubleheader at Rabat with Mexico's Cruz Azul (CONCACAF) taking on Asian club champs Australia's Western Sydney Wanderers.
