MLS: Reds, Red Bulls, Lions, Fire, SKC Post Saturday Wins; Caps And Quakes Draw; Philly Eliminated From Playoff Race

Six games were contested in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Toronto:

Sebastian Giovinco (28'), Jozy Altidore (63'), and Richie Marquez (OG-90'+1) each tallied once as Toronto FC moved closer to their first-ever playoff berth with a 3-1 home win over the Philadelphia Union, which knocked the guests out of playoff contention.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Lloyd Sam (12') and Bradley Wrigt-Phillips (21') each delivered a goal as the New York Red Bulls, for the time being, moved back to the top of the Supporters' Shield standings following their 2-1 home win over the Columbus Crew.

At Orlando, Florida:

Seb Hines scored the winning goal in the 80th minute as Orlando City kept their playoff chances alive with a 2-1 home win over the Montreal Impact.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

David Accam (51'), Harry Shipp (59'), and Gilberto (86') each scored a goal as the Chicago Fire knocked off the visiting New England Revolution 3-1.

At Portland, Oregon:

Krisztian Nemeth scored the only goal of the match in the 83rd minute as Sporting Kansas City knocked off the Portland Timbers 1-0 on the road.  SKC goalkeeper Tim Melia made six saves to preserve both the shutout and the victory.

At San Jose, California:

Chris Wondolowski's equalizer in the 62nd minute carried the San Jose Earthquakes to a 1-1 home draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps. Cristian Techera scored for the visitors in the 39th minute.
