MLS: Hoops Unbeaten Run Ends; Will Hesmer Goal Earns Road Draw For Crew; Revs Eliminate Wizards From Playoff Contention; Rapids In

Seven games were played on Saturday in Major League Soccer.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

The Chicago Fire settled for a 0-0 home stalemate with DC United.  It was the Fire's Brian McBride's final home game as the 38 year-old is set to retire at the end of this season.

At Toronto:

Will Hesmer became the second goalkeeper in MLS history as his second-half stoppage-time tally (90'+2) enabled the Columbus Crew to gain a 2-2 road draw with Toronto FC.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

Goals from Fred (7') and Michael Orozco (27') propelled the Philadelphia Union to a 2-1 home win over the New York Red Bulls, preventing the visitors from locking up the Eastern Conference title.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Shalrie Joseph scored the only goal of the match (30') as the New England Revolution eliminated the visiting Kansas City Wizards from playoff contention with a 1-0 win.

At Sandy, Utah:

Ned Grabavoy (58') and Javier Morales (89') provided the goal power as Real Salt Lake stretched their home unbeaten streak to 25 games with a 2-0 shutout over visiting FC Dallas.  The loss ended the Hoops' overall unbeaten run at 19 games.

At Santa Clara, California:

Goalkeeper Tyler Deric recorded a shutout in his MLS debut while Andrew Hainault scored the game's lone goal (22') as the Houston Dynamo defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 on the road.

At Carson, California:

Having already clinched a playoff berth thanks to New England's win over Kansas City, the Colorado Rapids defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1.  Conor Casey (30') and Omar Cummings (67') each tallied once for the Rapids.
