MLS: Red Bulls, Crew, Hoops Clinch Playoff Berths

Seven games were played in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Seattle:

Steve Zakuani (21'), Blaise Nfuko (26'), and Sanna Nyassi (59') each scored once as the Seattle Sounders defeated Toronto FC 3-2 on the road.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

The Houston Dynamo and Philadelphia Union played to a 1-1 stalemate.  Andrew Hainault scored at 10 minutes for the visiting Dynamo, but Sebastien Le Toux equalized for the hosts at 39 minutes.

At Columbus, Ohio:

The Columbus Crew were held to a 0-0 home deadlock by the San Jose Earthquakes but still locked up a playoff berth.  Jon Busch made four saves for the Quakes while Will Hesmer came up with a key second-half save for the Crew.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Dane Richards' goal at 5 minutes held up as the New York Red Bulls took over first place in the Eastern Conference---and locked up a playoff berth---with a 1-0 home win over the Kansas City Wizards.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Nat Borchers (68') and Alvaro Soborio (84') provided the second-half goalpower that lifted Real Salt Lake to a 2-1 road win over the New England Revolution.

At Frisco, Texas:

FC Dallas locked up their first playoff berth since 2007 as they stretched their unbeaten streak to an MLS record-tying 18 contests by dominating the visiting Chicago Fire 3-0.  Milton Rodriguez (18'), Marvin Chavez (45') and Jeff Cunningham (PK-66', his 132nd career goal, tying Jaime Moreno for the all-time MLS goal-scoring lead) each tallied once for the Hoops.

At Commerce City, Colorado:

Danny Allsopp scored the only goal of the match (45') as DC United knocked off the Colorado Rapids on the road 1-0.
