Europa League: Benfica, Porto, Yellow Submarine Take Series Openers; 1-1 Deadlock In Kiev

The quarterfinal round of the Europa League got underway on Thursday with the opening contests of all four respective two-game series.

At Lisbon, Portugal:

Eduardo Salvio scored twice (45', 51') as SL Benfica dominted visiting PSV Eindhoven 4-1 on the opening contest of their two-game series.

At Kiev Ukraine:

Ognjen Vukojevic's own goal at 14 provided what may be a precious away goal for Sporting Braga as the Portuguese club gained a 1-1 game-one road draw with Dynamo Kiev.  Andriy Yarmolenko scored for the hosts at 6 minutes.

At Porto, Portugal:

Radamel Falcao Garcia delivered a hat trick (38', 84', 90') as FC Porto blasted visiting Spartak Moscow 5-1 in the opening contest of their two-game series.

At Villarreal, Spain:

Nilmar tallied twice (45', 80') as Villarreal battered visiting FC Twente 5-1 in their series opener.
