MLS: Galaxy Blank Philly On Five-Draw Saturday; Timbers Get First MLS Point; Whitcaps Erase Three-Goal Deficit To Gain Draw

Six games were played in Major League Soccer on Saturday.


At Toronto:


Alan Gordon's goal at 35 minutes against his former team lifted Toronto FC to a 1-1 home draw with Chivas USA.  Alejandro Moreno scored at 2 minutes for the visiting Goats.


At Vancouver, British Columbia:


Camilo Sanvezzo scored twice during second-half stoppage time (90'+2, 90'+3) as the Vancouver Whitecaps erased a three-goal deficit to gain a 3-3 home draw with Sporting Kansas City.  Atiba Harris also scored (72') for the Whitecaps.  Teal Turnbury scored twice (45', 57') and Kei Kamara once (63') for visiting SKC.


At Foxborough, Massachusetts:


Jack Jewsbury scored at 38 points as the Portland Timbers picked up their first point in MLS play following their 1-1 road draw with the New England Revolution.  Stephen McCarthy scored at 21 points for the hosts.


At Harrison, New Jersey:


Cameron Weaver scored at 50 minutes, lifting the Houston Dynamo to a 1-1 road draw with the New York Red Bulls, in Dwayne De Rosario's debut with the hosts.  Dane Richards scored for the Red Bulls at 47 minutes.


At Carson, California:


Leonardo scored his first career MLS goal at 29 minutes as the Los Angeles Galaxy blanked the visiting---and previously unbeaten---Philadelphia Union 1-0.


At Santa Clara, California:


Khari Stephenson scored in the 52nd minute to carry the San Jose Earthquakes to a 2-2 home draw with the Seattle Sounders.  Chris Wondolowski also scored for the Quakes at 32 minutes.  Brad Evans (17') and O'Brian White (43') each tallied once for the Sounders.
