Lee Trundle (57') and Jack Lewis (61') provided the goals that propelled Neath to a 2-1 road win over The New Saints on Saturday in the opening contest for each team in the Championship Group stage of the Welsh Premier League season. This group involves the teams that finished the regular season in the top six positions in the top flight in Welsh soccer. TNS finished on top of the ladder at the end of the regular season while Neath finished fourth.
