UEFA Champions League: Zenit Top Eagles In Series Opener Though Visiting Benfica Still Alive; Rossoneri In Driver's Seat Against Gunners

Two more Round of 16 two-game series in the Champions League commenced on Wednesday.


At Saint Petersburg, Russia:


Roman Shirokov


Roman Shirokov scored twice (27', 88', that's him celebrating after his first tally) as Zenit Saint Petersburg took game one of their two-match series 3-2 at home against SL Benfica.  Maxi Pereira (20') and Oscar Cardozo (87') provided the scoring that kept the Portuguese club in the series.



At Milan, Italy:

Johan Djourou brings down Zlatan Ibrahimovic to concede a penalty


Robinho scored twice (38', 49') as AC Milan dismantled visiting Arsenal 4-0 in the opening match of their two-game set.  Here, we see the Gunners' bringing down the Rossoneri's Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the Arsenal penalty area, setting up Zlatan's successful penalty kick in the 79th minute.
